Here I am Lord

This verse is especially dear to me because when the Lord called me to work with veterans and our local Honor Flight program, I was completely unsure of what I was to do in order to fulfill the Lord’s calling. I remember walking up to the man who started the program and saying, “I am suppose to help you. I don’t know what I am suppose to do just yet, but I do know the Lord wants me to help you. The only thing I know how to do is crochet.”

Just a word of advice, never admit what you can do, when you aren’t sure what you’re suppose to do. After saying, “Here I am Lord” the Lord and I had long conversations about what exactly I was to do and how I was to do it. I think I spent two months saying, that’s not going to happen Lord. Well, the joke was on me, right? If you are like me, the Lord always wins in what He wants for us, it’s just a matter how long are we going to fight Him.

The Lord has a purpose for your life, just as He has one for mine. Have you ever told yourself that your past keeps you from being a warrior for the Lord? Think again.

  • Jacob was a cheater.
  • Peter had a temper.
  • David had an affair.
  • Noah got drunk.
  • Jonah ran from God.
  • Paul was a murderer.
  • Gideon was insecure.
  • Miriam was a gossip.
  • Martha was a worrier.
  • Thomas was a doubter.
  • Sara was impatient.
  • Elijah was moody.
  • Moses stuttered.
  • Zaccheus was short.
  • Abraham was old.
  • Lazarus was dead.

God STILL used them to do amazing things for HIS glory. God specializes in using broken people to do powerful things. I could probably pick 4 or 5 things from the list above and apply it to myself, but the beautiful thing is, God loves me and will use me just as I am for the glory of His kingdom. What has He called you to do that you keep saying, “You’ve got the wrong person Lord?”

Let’s stop saying that. When the Lord calls you to something, stop and really listen to what it is He has for you to do. Then say, “Here I am Lord!” The Lord has an amazing way of making sure you can do what He’s called you to do. He will never leave you, nor forsake you in your time of need. Once you admit and accept the calling He has for your life, life gets a little easier. You have a peace that you never experienced before and you have a purpose.

Always remember, God loves you very much. He only wants what’s best for you and He will not call you to do something without equipping you also. Just remember to say, “Here I am Lord” instead of “I don’t think so Lord” and watch as your life and your heart change unbelievably so.

No Longer Slaves

I love Bible journaling.  I have absolutely no drawing talent for it, but it’s absolutely beautiful.  I think my only real problem with it is; how do they use their bibles for studying if they have put stickers on their words or painted over them?  How do they use the bible for its intended use, reading and gaining knowledge?  My only conclusion is they have one for journaling into and one for studying.  For me, if I am going to spend the time to journal something beautiful into my bible, then I want to see it when I am studying to remind me why I took the time to journal it.  Now, please don’t take this as anything bad towards the people who love to do this, I know for ME, it’s been a reason why I have NOT really gotten into bible journaling even though I do love the idea of it.

I have done several things to make my bible pretty but still be able to use it for my studying and reading.  I got some tabs for the books of the bible from Sweet Frog, printed them on sticker paper and colored them.  That made them mine and I got to play around with them.

It was a lot of fun.  It did take awhile, but that made it more special to me cause I took the time to make them reflect who I am.

Home Birth with Essential Oils

God’s blessings have been raining down on our family.  About a year ago, I was introduced to the amazing uses of Essential Oils.  Since then, we use them for all kinds of things that come up in our home:  allergies, cold, fevers, sinus problems, cleaning, energy, weight loss, rashes, boils, skin tags/warts, etc.  It has truly trasformed the way that I look at my medicine cabinet.  I find myself reacing for my oils more and more and not even looking in my medicine cabinet.  Actually, I think I threw a bunch of it away because it had expired first.  🙂

Bedtime Madness

Bedtime at my house with little man has always been madness.  He doesn’t go to sleep until around 11pm and he is up just a couple of hours later.  I usually end up just taking him into bed with me so that I can get a few hours of sleep.  To tell you the truth, I am just plain tired.

Hamming it up!

I just loved this picture and had to share.  We were at Multnomah Falls in Oregon on an adventure (will do a seperate post on the whole trip).

Joseph is saying, “Look at me!  I am just so cute, aren’t I?”  Of course we think he is.  Manuel is lounging around in the “I am so cool” pose and the rest of just must think its all funny.

Love my family.  I am so blessed!

Week 38

I think I finally am seeing some relief from this heat!  Spent Sunday with a few contractions that never amounted to anything (although I was really hoping they would).  Been doing that off and on a couple of days this week and I am getting drained from them.  Really hope this baby makes an appearance soon….I really want to hold it and love on it and look into its eyes.  Continue reading “Week 38”
